Belarus among winners of Slavic culture festival in Estonia

ParnuMINSK, 28 August (BelTA) – Belarusians were awarded at the creative contests of the 5th International Slavic Culture Festival Svetoch that took place in Parnu, Estonia on 24-27 August, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian embassy in Estonia.

Belarus was represented at the festival by students of the Slutsk Children’s Arts Center and Slutsk school No.8 – the exemplary dance company Paparat Kvetka, soloists Yekaterina Paksadze and Yana Sapotskaya, and the exemplary song company Svyatki from the Zolak Chidlren’s and Youth Center in Minsk.

The Belarusian arts and crafts were on displayed at two personal exhibitions organized by Lyudmila Pnyushkova and Valentina Vitko.

“Belarusian participants won prizes in all three categories of the Svetoch festival: music, dance, arts and crafts. The Embassy of Belarus also awarded the participants of the festival with the diplomas for active contribution towards the strengthening and development of cultural relations between Belarus and Estonia,” the mission said.

During the festival, representatives of the embassy met with members of the Belarusian cultural society of Parnu. The event was attended by artists of the Svyatki folk song.
