MINSK, 25 April (BelTA) - The victory in the Fed Cup World Group playoff tie over Slovakia took Belarus up to the third spot in the Fed Cup Nations Ranking, BelTA has learned.

The 3-2 victory in Minsk secured for Belarus its Fed Cup World group place. Now, Belarus has 12,347 points. The Czech Republic, the leader of the ranking, has 31,430 points, the United States goes with 28,570 points. The two countries will face each other in the Fed Cup World Group final on 10-11 November. Last season Belarus reached the Fed Cup final for the first time and was edged by the United States 2-3.

Top ten in the Fed Cup Nations Ranking include:

1. Czech Republic – 31,430 points,

2. United States – 28,570,

3. Belarus – 12,347,

4. France – 11,972,

5. Germany – 7,875,

6. Belgium – 6,240,

7. Switzerland – 6,162,
