Bard Music & Fishing Festival promises non-stop music marathon

MOGILEV, 27 July (BelTA) – Guests of the 8th International Bard Music & Fishing Festival, which is due on the shore of the Chigirinskoye Water Reservoir in Bykhov District on 28-30 July, will be treated to a non-stop music marathon, BelTA learned from the organizing committee of the festival.

Taking part in the event will be musicians from ten countries: Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, Moldova, Israel, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Poland and Estonia. The festival will feature a variety of creative, recreational, tourism and sports events and projects, and also a many-hour music program that will highlight the birthdays of outstanding bard and songwriter Yuliy Kim (80th birthday) and well-known poet and critic Yuri Ryashentsev (85th birthday). Yuliy Kim will present his solo concert at the main stage of the Bard Music & Fishing Festival on 29 July. An eventful music program will celebrate Yuri Ryashentsev as well.

The Merhavim Theater of Songs (Israel) will also present its program at the festival. The theater was founded by poet and bard from Vitebsk Boris Blyakhman.

The program of the festival will include a big Belarusian-language concert entitled as I was Born Here to feature well-known bards and musicians, a concert Singing Okudzhava’s Songs Together, a bard chanson event with Vygantas Kazlauskas from Lithuania, a music marathon and a premiere of the children’s play A Tale of Wolves’ Forest.

The Bard Music & Fishing Queen will be chosen for the second time. This year the winner will get a weekend trip for two to the Nesvizh Palace and Park Ensemble, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Belarus. The competition will be hosted by the international public association Fitness Federation led by Chairperson Natalia Novozhilova.

The traditional events of the festival will include the contest of bard songs "Guitar Rounds", fishing contests, an open beach volleyball tournament among amateurs and professionals, the international project Neighbors.

The 3rd international festival Fair of Taste will feature original technologies and recipes for cooking fish broth and fish dishes. The cooking competition will feature two programs: chowder and fish dishes. Professors from the Mogilev State University of Food and chefs from Mogilev will conduct master classes.

The Lazenkі 2017 program will offer educational programs in making bath brooms and their application in bathing procedures, aromatherapy and phytotherapy, a master-class in making natural soaps, various competitions, and also steaming classes from best bathhouse attendants from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, and Lithuania.

A parking lot for caravaners will be organized one kilometer away from the concert venue by the Belarusian Club of Caravaners and Motoring Tourists.

A rental of bicycles, kayaks, boats, and catamarans will be available. There will be sports and extreme sports venues.

The festival was first held in 2010. The project has become a hallmark of Mogilev Oblast and Belarus. Last year the event attracted over 5,000 guests and participants from 10 countries.

The organizers of the Bard Music & Fishing Festival are the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, Bykhov District Executive Committee, the creative association Svoya Sreda and the public council for agroecotourism in Mogilev Oblast.
