Artists from 20 countries to take part in folk art festival in Bobruisk

MOGILEV, 25 May (BelTA) – Arts groups and singers from 20 countries will take part in the 13th International folk Art Festival Wreath of Friendship due in Bobruisk on 25-29 June, BelTA learned from the department for ideology, culture and youth affairs of the Bobruisk City Hall.

The festival will bring together representatives from four continents: folk groups and professional singers from South America, United States, Africa, Europe and Asia. For example, the festival will feature the young talents from Colombia, Mexico and Cuba who will then perform at the International Festival of Arts Slavonic Bazaar in Vitebsk. Alla Slavina (Sandler) of the United States will visit Bobruisk accompanied by composers Anthony Yadrov and Mark Taytler.

The festival’s playbill features: a performance for children by Temirtau Theater (Kazakhstan) and a concert of youth and children's choirs of Bobruisk, a solo concert of Lev Leshchenko, various exhibitions, competitions, presentations and other events. Teams-participants of the festival will also take part in a festive theatrical procession through the streets of Bobruisk, the exhibition of national souvenirs, the evening of friendship and the presentations of national cuisine.

All in all, artists from 33 countries have taken part in the festival since its founding 12 years ago. "Our festival aims to develop and strengthen international cultural relations, promote folk art and traditions. The event will be held under the motto Festival of Friendship For Peace And Harmony Without Borders.

The organizers of the event are Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee, the Bobruisk city administration together with the Culture Ministry of the Republic of Belarus and the Central Committee of the Belarusian Trade Union of Workers of Culture.
