Animayevka 2015 Grand Prix goes to Spain

MOGILEV, 14 September (BelTA) – The Grand Prix of the 18th international festival of animated films Animayevka 2015 went to “Bendito Machine V: Pull the Trigger” by Jossie Malis, Spain, BelTA learned from the organizing committee of the festival.

This year, most of the prizes have been awarded to foreign participants. For example, Spanish director Pedro Solis Garcia won the Best Film for Children award. The movie “First Fall” directed by Aude Danset and Carlos de Carvalho (France) was awarded the Best Artistic Solution prize. The Best Debut award was given to the short animated film “Castillo y el Armado” directed by Pedro Harres, Portugal. The short film “Tik-Tak” by Ulo Pikkov, Estonia became winner in the Best Experimental Film nomination. Finally, Oksana Cherkasova from Russia received the main prize For Proficiency.

The prizes of the children's contest of animated films went to Kazakhstan, Russia, and Ukraine.

As many as 225 films from 43 countries, including Australia, Greece, Israel, Mexico, Romania, South Korea, and Japan, were screened during the Animayevka 2015 festival. The competition program featured 79 films from 33 countries. Apart from the contests, the program of the festival included meetings with famous directors, workshops, themed exhibitions, and theatrical performances.

The festival was founded by the Belarusian Culture Ministry and the Mogilev Oblast Executive Committee. Animayevka is aimed at strengthening the cultural ties between Belarus and the countries partaking in it.
