Ambassadors’ spouses invited for children’s performance in Minsk ahead of Women’s Day

MINSK, 4 March (BelTA) – In the run-up to Women’s Day, the wife of the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Belarus Vera Polyakova-Makei met with the spouses of the heads of diplomatic missions and offices of international organizations, BelTA has learned.

This time, the foreign guests were invited to the National Arts Center for Children and Youth for a musical performance. The play was directed by Vera Polyakova-Makei. Under her guidance the first graders of one of Minsk schools staged Korney Chukovsky’s Mukha-Tsokotukha (“Fly-a-Buzz-Buzz”). Vera Polyakova-Makei said that it was her first experience of working with children. “They are spontaneous, straightforward and interesting, and at the same time they are great artists,” she said.

On 4 March the ambassadors’ spouses together with Vera Polyakova-Makei also visited the greenhouse of the Botanical Gardens to see the exotic plants of different climatic zones.

Sharipa Bulegenova, the spouse of the Ambassador of Kazakhstan to Belarus, said that such meetings are always interesting, and are held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. Today’s meeting was no exception and helped the foreign guests to get into the mood of the upcoming spring holiday.
