Amazing light show at opening of IBU Youth/Junior World Championships in Belarus

MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – The 2015 IBU Youth/Junior World Championships will be held at the National Winter Olympic Training Center Raubichi on 17-24 February. The organizers of the championships have promised an amazing light show during the solemn opening ceremony that will take place at the State Flag Square in Minsk on 17 February, BelTA has learned.

The opening ceremony will start at 20.00 local time on 17 February and will last for about an hour.

Darya Domracheva, the leader of the IBU World Cup standings, will not attend the IBU Youth/Junior World Championships in Raubichi despite a respite in the competitions. She explained that this might affect her preparation for the IBU World Championships 2015 that will be held in Finland’s Kontiolahti on 5-15 March. The athlete made this statement in Norway's Holmenkollen.

At the same time Belarus’ national youth and junior teams are conducting their last training sessions in Raubichi.

Apart from the national teams, biathletes from the United States and Norway are already training in Raubichi. The bulk of the participants arrived in Belarus on 15 February. All in all, the world championships in Belarus will bring together more than 600 participants, including 450 athletes.

The first races will kick off on 18 February.

Express bus route No. 449BE “Borisov Tract-Raubichi” will take fans from Minsk to Raubichi and back on 18-24 February. The following stops will be made during the route: Borisov Tract metro station, Karbysheva Street, Lesnoy village, and Raubichi.

The first express bus will depart from the Borisov Tract metro station at 8.00 o’clock and the last express bus will leave Raubichi an hour after an award ceremony. The express bus will run every 20 minutes.

The bus ticket from the Borisov Tract metro station to the Raubichi sports complex will cost Br14,200.
