About 100 volunteers from Belarus to partake in Russia’s COVID-19 vaccine trial

MINSK, 17 September (BelTA) – About 100 people from Belarus are expected to take part in the study of Russia’s COVID-19 vaccine Gam-COVID-Vac, BelTA learned from the press service of the Healthcare Ministry.

In order to volunteer for the Covid-19 vaccine trial, one needs to submit an application on the websites of the healthcare facilities that will act as research centers. These facilities include Polyclinic No.1 of Tsentralny District of Minsk, Polyclinic No.4 (Minsk), Polyclinic No.5 (Minsk), Polyclinic No.14 of Partizansky District of Minsk, Polyclinic No.19 of Pervomaisky District of Minsk, Polyclinic No.28 (Minsk), Minsk Oblast Hospital and Vitebsk Oblast Hospital.

The Gam-COVID-Vac vaccine was developed by the Gamaleya Research Institute of Epidemiology and Microbiology of Russia’s Ministry of Health. The vaccine study is planned to be conducted in a double-blind placebo-controlled design. The trial will be part of a large-scale study of the Gam-COVID-Vac vaccine run by Russia.
