Voter turnout in Belarus’ parliamentary elections at 55.47%

As of 14.00 the voter turnout in Belarus’ parliamentary elections totaled 55.47%, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Belarus Vadim Ipatov told the media on 17 November.

According to him, the turnout is the highest in Mogilev Oblast (62.25%). “The elections can be declared valid in all the constituencies of Mogilev Oblast,” Vadim Ipatov said. According to him, 61.12% of registered voters cast their ballots in Vitebsk Oblast. The turnout in Gomel Oblast is 60.09%. “The elections are valid in all the constituencies of Gomel Oblast, too,” Vadim Ipatov informed.

The voter turnout in Minsk Oblast stood at 56.65%, in Grodno Oblast at 56.27%, in Brest Oblast at 52.09%, in the city of Minsk at 44.57%.

A number of polling stations have already closed, including 31 polling stations in Minsk Oblast and 36 polling stations in Mogilev Oblast,” Vadim Ipatov informed.
