Winter in Belarus: Enchanting monochrome landscapes, snow-covered sights and warming emotions of the coldest season
13 Dec 2023

Blizzards and snowfalls, which transform everything around in a matter of hours, frosts followed by a sudden thaw, ice or the cozy sound of snow crunching under your feet… Winter in Belarus brings surprises every day. In our latitudes winter takes on different shapes: Cold, serene, sleepy, and also energizing, invigorating and heart-warming even despite sub-zero temperatures.

Since mid-November, air masses from the north reached Belarus bringing precipitation - snow, sleet, rain. At night, the mercury dropped to -15 °C. In the beginning of December, heavy snowfalls hit the country, which caused a lot of problems for motorists and pedestrians, utilities and road services. But at the same time, they created incredibly beautiful landscapes and opened a season of active winter entertainment.

Sights, cities, villages, endless snowy expanses and fairy scenery of the season are in the winter album Belarus.by.
