On 26-29 January Belarus’ Raubichi hosted the Commonwealth Biathlon Cup featuring Belarusian and Russian athletes.
Leader of the men’s total score Anton Smolski of Belarus finished 3rd, with one penalty, 17.2 seconds behind winner Eduard Latypov of Russia. Russia’s Daniil Serokhvostov came in 2nd.
Three-time medalist of the previous leg Dzmitry Lazouski of Belarus shot clean to finish 4th.
Stsiapan Danilau came in 7th (clean shooting), Maksim Varabei was 11th, Ivan Tulatin – 13th, Aliaksandr Koshyn – 15th, Mikita Labastau – 24th, Raman Yaliotnau – 25th, Ilya Auseyenka – 29th, Pavel Belko – 32nd. A total of 33 athletes took part in the race.
Clean-shooting Dzinara Alimbekava-Smolskaya of Belarus came in second in the women's sprint at the Commonwealth Cup leg in Raubichi, BelTA has learned. The Belarusian finished three seconds behind winner Irina Kazakevich of Russia.Third was Tamara Derbusheva.
As for other Belarusian biathletes, Darya Kudayeva finished 16th, Irina Kruchinkina-Shakleina was 22nd, Yuliya Kavaleuskaya – 23rd, Viktoryia Khadasevich – 25th, Adelina Sabitava – 27th among 28 athletes.
The fifth leg of the Commonwealth Cup in Raubichi continued with the women’s sprint on 27 January. The program also included two pursuits on Saturday and two mass starts on 29 January.
