13 May 2016

Belarusian entry IVAN presented his composition Help You Fly and a stunning holographic act in the second semifinal of the 2016 Eurovision Song Contest on 12 May. Unfortunately, he lacked votes to qualify for the grand final.

The second 10 finalists named on Thursday included: Latvia, Georgia, Bulgaria, Australia, Ukraine, Serbia, Poland, Israel, Lithuania, Belgium. Azerbaijan, Russia, the Netherlands, Hungary, Croatia, Austria, Armenia, Czech Republic, Cyprus and Malta made it through the first semifinal on Tuesday. According to the Eurovision rules, the "big five" (Germany, France, Italy, Spain and the UK) have a guaranteed place in the final. Being the reigning winner, Sweden also automatically advanced to the grand final.
