TIBO 2021 forum opens in Minsk

MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) – The 27th international forum on information and communications technologies TIBO 2021 opens in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

The forum traditionally brings together major domestic and foreign manufacturers of telecommunications equipment, hardware and software, mobile and fixed-line operators, developers and suppliers of high-tech products, security systems, smart solutions and services for the mass and corporate segments. This year the forum will draw more than 100 organizations from Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, the United Arab Emirates, the Russian Federation, Uzbekistan and others.

The exposition "Belarus - the country of digital opportunities” will occupy the central place at the international forum. The central exposition will feature innovative ICT developments of government agencies and Belarusian IT companies and the areas of their application in various fields of activity.  The exhibition includes thematic zones such as "Digital Opportunities for the State and the Citizen," "Digital Opportunities for Living in a Modern City (Smart City)," "Digital Business Opportunities," and "Digital Opportunities for Everyone."

In addition to individual stands of companies, the exhibition will showcase collective stands of the ministries of education and industry, the State Committee on Science and Technology, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Minsk City Technology Park, St. Petersburg Export Support Center, and special sections “Educational Alley”, “The Arena of Innovations”, “100 Ideas for Belarus”.

The TIBO 2021 business program comprises 30 thematic events, including the 3rd Eurasian Digital Forum, the 4th Belarusian ICT Summit, the Digital Economy Forum, the International Telecommunication Union workshop “5G (IMT-2020) networks launch and operation experience”, and others.

The 3rd Eurasian Digital Forum will highlight the integration of the main elements of the digital infrastructure of the national markets to implement the priorities of the digital agenda of the Eurasian continent. The thematic focus of the forum will be on the ecosystem of digital transport corridors, digital projects and initiatives, electronic commercial document management and innovative trade technologies. Participants of the Digital Economy forum will carefully analyze the results of digitization in various sectors and matters of intersectoral and interlevel interaction, outline priorities in this fields and draw up the action plan taking into account international best practices, and define the main problems and success factors of digital transformation. The agenda of the 4th Belarusian ICT Summit will include global tendencies of the ICT development examples of introduction of digital technologies and innovative solutions in various economic sectors.

The official opening of the Digital Future forum will be another key event. Participants of the forum will discuss international experience in digital transformation, ways to overcome existing barriers and to intensify digitization processes, as well as the development of international cooperation.

The organizers will also unveil the results of TIBO 2021 Internet Award and Belarus ICT Startup Award and hold the national round of the 5th international Scratch Creative Programming Olympiad for school students on the sidelines of TIBO 2021.

TIBO 2021 forum has been organized by the  Communications and Informatization Ministry with the participation of representatives of the government, business, professional and scientific community, international experts.

Lukashenko: Digital transformation of all sectors is among Belarus’ national priorities

MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has extended greetings to the participants and guests of the 27th international forum on information and communications technologies TIBO 2021, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.

“In the modern world, high technologies are an important driving force behind economic development and improvement of people's quality of life. Digital transformation of all sectors of the modern society is one of the national priorities of Belarus,” the head of state said.

The message of greetings runs: “TIBO is an excellent platform for development of information and communications technologies, and effective cooperation of representatives of the scientific and business communities. By building an open dialogue here, you participate in the process of shaping the ideas of the nearest future.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko thanked the foreign guests of the forum for their professional interest and trust in the country at this difficult time for the whole world. “Active work of the representatives of the Eurasian Economic Commission, the EAEU member states, the CIS and other international unions will let us strengthen international partnership in the IT sector and the implementation of the digital agenda,” the head of state said.

The president wished everyone successful work, new mutually beneficial contracts and pleasant impressions from their stay in the beautiful and hospitable Minsk.
