MINSK, 28 July (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko is expected to hold a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in the near future. The leaders are set to discuss the most important issues one on one, Press Secretary of the Belarusian president Natalya Eismont told TASS, BelTA has learned.

Earlier, Aleksandr Lukashenko said that he held a phone call with Vladimir Putin on Sunday, 27 July.

“The presidents of Belarus and Russia always have matters to discuss. There's a whole range of topics, both regarding bilateral relations and the international agenda,” Natalya Eismont said.

According to her, the leaders did not discuss substantive issues during this call. “Some topics are better not to discuss over the phone. The presidents will arrange a meeting in the near future to discuss all the most important matters face-to-face,” the press secretary of the Belarusian president said.
