MINSK, 20 April (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko will deliver the annual State of the Nation Address on 21 April, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian leader.
The speech by the head of state will be broadcast live by the Belarus 1 TV channel and the First National Channel of the Belarusian Radio. The broadcast from the Oval Hall of the Seat of Government will begin at 11:00. The televised version of the Address will be broadcast by Belarusian TV channels at 21:00.
Spokesperson for the Belarusian President Natalia Eismont told BelTA about the main issues on the agenda. “The Address will have a traditional structure. It will consist of a number of big thematic blocks. It is expected that the economic block will be the central one. First of all, it will touch upon the goals and plans for the year 2016,” the spokesperson said.
In her words, the head of state will also speak about the most important social policy issues. These are the improvement of the pension system, healthcare, education, etc. Besides, the Address will focus on Belarus’ foreign policy priorities, the personnel strategy, and other topical issues.
The event in the Oval Hall of the Seat of Government will be attended by Belarusian top-ranking officials, MPs, heads of public administration bodies, directors of major enterprises, representatives of the diplomatic service and mass media outlets.
