Lukashenko signs application for Belarus’ participation in Rio 2016

MINSK, 22 September (BelTA) – Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko signed the application of the National Olympic Committee for Belarus’ participation in the 31st Summer Olympic Games, BelTA informs.

The 31st Olympic Games will be held in less than a year, and the best Belarusian athletes will compete in Rio de Janeiro, said Alexander Lukashenko. “It will be a tough test for every athlete and coach, for the whole sport sector. Every athlete and coach should understand that winning a medal is not just his or her personal striving. The whole country will watch the performance of our team with excitement and sinking hearts,” said the President.
