Lukashenko, Putin interested in prompt resolution of armed conflict in eastern UkraineMINSK, 11 February (BelTA) – Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko had a telephone talk with President of Russia Vladimir Putin on 11 February, BelTA has learned.

BelTA informs that the presidents discussed some organizational issues before the Normandy format meeting on Ukraine which is scheduled to take place in the afternoon. The sides discussed topical aspects of the document which is currently being worked out at the level of delegations and will be submitted to the heads of state in the Normandy format. Alexander Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin expressed mutual interest in the prompt resolution of the armed conflict in eastern Ukraine. The President of Russia confirmed his participation in the Minsk talks.

The leaders of Germany, France, Russia, and Ukraine are expected to arrive in Minsk in the afternoon on 11 February.
