Lukashenko, Putin attend Belagro 2016

MINSK, 8 June (BelTA) – Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin have attended the 26th international expo Belagro 2016, BelTA has learned.

The trade show is held as part of the Belarusian Agro-Industrial Week from 7 to 11 June. It occupies 31,271 square meters on the territory of Minsk 1 Airport. Partaking in the exhibition are 535 companies from 23 countries, including Austria, the United Kingdom, Germany, China, Russia, the United States, France and Switzerland.

Lukashenko, Putin attend Belagro 2016This year, the expo is larger than usual as it has been timed to coincide with the third Belarus-Russia Forum of Regions. It showcases Belarus’ achievements in social services, healthcare, education, science, culture, light industry, chemical industry, construction, military industrial complex, automobile manufacturing, and utilities sector.

Lukashenko, Putin attend Belagro 2016There are as many as 352 vehicles for different uses on display at Belagro 2016. The exhibits include Geely cars manufactured by the Belarus-China joint venture BelGee, a three-section tram B853 Metelitsa made by Stadler Minsk, a dump truck BelAZ-75581 with payload capacity of 90 tonnes, and many other models of vehicles.

Enterprises of Russia’s Ivanovo Oblast, Rostov Oblast, Udmurtia and Moscow also showcase their products at the trade show.
