Lukashenko: Neighboring countries chose confrontational policy towards Belarus

MINSK, 27 September (BelTA) – The situation in a number of neighboring countries is unfavorable for Belarus, President Aleksandr Lukashenko said as he met with the country’s top law enforcement officials on 27 September, BelTA has learned.

“The situation in the neighboring countries is unfavorable for us. Moreover, these countries have opted for a confrontational policy towards Belarus,” he said.

“We need to assess the situation at the state border. I would ask you not to focus on the situation with migrants only. We have other very serious issues. These are the issues of defense,” said the Belarusian leader.

Lukashenko: Neighboring countries chose confrontational policy towards BelarusAleksandr Lukashenko emphasized that Poland deploys troops near the border of Belarus. “No matter where the troops are deployed in Poland, it is clear that they are not deployed against Germany. Moreover, these troops are deployed by foreign countries, first of all by the United States of America. We see how Lithuania is doing its utmost to show its loyalty to NATO and the USA. The saddest thing, however, is Ukraine. We see what they are doing there. Not only have our ‘fugitives’ fled there, training camps are set up there to work against Belarus, as the special services say,” the president said.

He stressed that even Ukrainian border guards have already began discovering weapons hides near the border with Belarus. “If these hides are meant for events on the territory of Ukraine, there is no need to make them close to our border. These weapons would have been hidden somewhere else. We see signs of unfriendly acts against Belarus. A lot has already been said about it,” said the President.Lukashenko: Neighboring countries chose confrontational policy towards Belarus
