Lukashenko extends greetings to Belarusians celebrating Christmas on 25 December

MINSK, 25 December (BelTA) – Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko extended greetings to Belarusian Christians who celebrate Christmas on 25 December, BelTA learned from the press service of the head of state.

"The bright light of the Star of Bethlehem calls all believers towards the most wonderful Christian holiday. It fills the heart with great joy and hope, inspires people to do good deeds, teaches to show compassion and love for one's neighbor," the congratulatory message reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Christmas is a time for sincere prayer in church and heartfelt family evenings, long-awaited gifts to children and conscious charity, taking stock and making plans for the future.

"I am convinced that being united by loyalty to our beloved Belarus, together we will do everything possible to make every citizen feel relevant and happy," the president stressed. “I wish you good health, success and optimism. May the beautiful atmosphere of these days become an inexhaustible source of spiritual strength for the coming year!"
