MINSK, 1 January (BelTA) – Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko has declared the year 2026 the Year of the Belarusian Woman. The declaration was made as part of the president’s New Year’s address to the Belarusian nation, BelTA has learned.
Aleksandr Lukashenko said: “We honor our mothers, wives, and daughters one day per year. It is time to give proper respect to the special role they play in our life and declare the year 2026 the Year of the Belarusian Woman. Nature has not created anything more perfect than women! We will watch over our women and our land. We will protect our future – families, friends, and relatives – from disasters and hardships.”
“May the eyes of your kids light up with joy and may the children stay out of trouble. May our hardworking women welcome their men, who support and protect them, with a smile,” the president wished in his New Year’s address. “I wish you the captivating and all-consuming kind of love that will help you work miracles and achieve the impossible! Genuine love is impossible without love for a woman, for a girl!”
