MINSK, 30 December (BelTA) – Belarus will follow the path chosen by people in the future, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko told reporters on 30 December, BelTA has learned.
The President stressed that those who need destruction, turmoil and disarray insist on hasty reforms today. “Then they may come to power, then they may turn the country to the other side. This will not happen. The country will follow the path chosen by Belarusian people,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
The head of state cited healthcare as an example of good reforms and modernization. Visiting a maternity hospital of Minsk city clinical hospital No. 5 fitted with cutting-edge equipment, the President emphasized that this is an indicator of the fact that the state is taking care of the country’s future. Alexander Lukashenko stressed that there have always been good doctors and efficient healthcare facilities in Belarus. They have been provided with ultra-modern equipment by now. The investments in medicine brought positive results – the infant mortality rate in Belarus has decreased 2.5 times within a decade and made up 3 permille in 2015. One woman in labor died due to obstetrical reasons in the current five-year period.
“This is the essence of the reform, we will modernize all areas,” the President stressed. He added that the state will continue to lend a shoulder and find resources for those who need them. Belarusians can always count on the support in this field, Alexander Lukashenko concluded.
