MINSK, 28 December (BelTA) – Belarus’ wellbeing relies on the successes of those who do not waver in the face of problems, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko said at the ceremony to confer state awards on 28 December, BelTA has learned.
It has become a good tradition to award the best workers on New Year’s Eve. The brightest achievements of Belarusians were highlighted during the ceremony in the Palace of Independence on 28 December. “Of course, Belarus’ wellbeing relies on the successes of concrete people, including workers, civil servants and directors. These are the people who do not waver in the face of problems and are looking for solutions,” Alexander Lukashenko noted.
The President stressed that the expiring year was not easy. “The global crisis, difficulties of our business partners, friends, neighbors had a negative impact on the Belarusian economy. That is why, the achievements of workers who managed not only to hold out in these difficult circumstances but also to reach new heights in their professional activities are even more valuable,” the head of state said.
Belarusian agrarians have faced serious obstacles this year. A long period of drought endangered the harvest. Nevertheless, Belarus managed to ensure the food security, Alexander Lukashenko stressed. He emphasized that the ceremony is attended by the representative of OAO Agronemansky (Stolbtsy District, Minsk Oblast). The head of state said that this specialist is a highly-qualified agronomist, production foreman. He has been working as a harvester operator for 50 years and can be proud of his professional excellence.
The President added that it is also needed to thank builders of Minskpromstroy and Grodnopromstroy. The workers of these organizations have implemented a number of important industrial and social projects ranging from the renovation of big factories to the large-scale works at the Minsk National Airport and the Belarusian NPP. The head of state thanked the workers for their diligence and commitment.
The ceremony was attended by a big group of healthcare workers. “We honor the achievements of doctors who have made a big contribution to the development of such areas as the protection of maternity and childhood, neurology and neurosurgery, anesthesiology, prevention and treatment of infectious diseases. You have designed new methods of diagnostics, prevention and treatment of serious diseases. And now they are successfully used both in Belarus and abroad, restore people’s health and help thousands of people live their lives to the full,” Alexander Lukashenko said.
