Lukashenko: Belarus’ new program lays out national development vision for 2026-2030

Lukashenko: Belarus’ new program lays out national development vision for 2026-2030

MINSK, 19 December (BelTA) – Belarus’ social and economic development program for 2026-2030, adopted at the second session of the 7th Belarusian People's Congress, is a roadmap to modernizing and renewing all areas of life, Belarusian President, Chairman of the Belarusian People's Congress Aleksandr Lukashenko said while summing up the two-day session, BelTA has learned.

During the second session of the 7th Belarusian People's Congress, a number of new constitutional powers were implemented for the first time. Specifically, the membership of the highest judicial bodies was renewed, and the fundamental document for state planning in the medium term, namely the program for the upcoming five-year period, was approved.

“The adopted program is a roadmap to modernizing, for renewing all areas of life. It incorporates the achievements of past years, current challenges, and our capabilities. Yes, the goals set for the five-year period are ambitious but achievable. We have never suffered from wishful thinking; we have always built realistic plans and moved forward progressively, step by step. It is up to use to realize everything we have planned,” the president said.

“Achieving the targets we have approved today will demand a substantial increase in the effectiveness of public administration and strict executive and production discipline. This is where we must lead. Not only government bodies, but every citizen in their respective role must do their utmost to fulfill these goals. We must be ready to respond to new challenges, identify untapped potential, and make the most of emerging opportunities,” the Belarusian leader emphasized.

He observed that no matter how resilient Belarus’ social and economic model may be, the ongoing global turbulence inevitably has an effect. “When has life ever been easy for Belarusians? We have always endured every trial with perseverance. I am confident we will endure this one as well. No one can strip us of our diligence, our ingenuity, or our ability to unite and support one another. These qualities, along with our love for our homeland, will remain with us forever. They are the foundation of our present and future successes,” Aleksandr Lukashenko added.

The president noted that after the Belarusian People’s Congress session, meetings should be held in work collectives across the regions to explain in detail the adopted decisions and the issues discussed.

Overall, Aleksandr Lukashenko said that the Belarusian People’s Congress session featured a frank and substantive conversation about pressing problems and ways to solve them. The results of the outgoing five-year period were summed up, and priorities for the development of the state and society for the next five years were defined.
