Lukashenko: Belarus has fulfilled its role

MINSK, 12 February (BelTA) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said that he is satisfied that Belarus has fulfilled its role. “I am very pleased that Belarus has fulfilled its function, its role. But the central figures of these talks were, of course, the heads of states. They did a good job. They survived this marathon,” Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said when talking to journalists in Minsk after the talks to resolve the situation in Ukraine, BelTA has learned.

Alexander Lukashenko asked the reporters not to overdramatize the fact that the negotiations lasted such a long time. "It takes months or even years to resolve the issues of war and peace. Here the heads of state managed to reach an agreement to suspend military action within 15 hours. Well done!” said the Belarusian head of state. At the same time, he stressed that the main thing is to implement all the agreements on the ground. "We will see how this will flare," he added.

“Come visit us again. But it will be better if you come here to discuss the future construction of Europe - our common home. We will be happy to see you,” Alexander Lukashenko underlined.
