MINSK, 20 February (BelTA) – The IBU Open European Championships will kick off at the Raubichi Olympic Training Center near Minsk with two Individual events on 20 February, BelTA has learned.
The first event - Men’s 20km Individual – will start at 16h00. Belarus’ team will include Nikita Lobastov (No.15), Vladimir Chepelin (No.30), Sergei Bocharnikov (No.68), Raman Yaliotnau (No.91) and Anton Smolski (No.109).
The Women’s 15km Individual will kick off at 19h30. Belarus will field Dzinara Alimbekava (No.19), Iryna Kryuko (No.30), Elena Kruchinkina (No.51), Irina Kruchinkina (No.74) and Darya Yurkevich (No.82).
The events will be broadcast live by Belarus 5 TV channel.
Russia will send its strongest athletes to Raubichi. The Russian team chose not to travel to Canada and the United States for the BMW IBU World Biathlon Cups but to focus on the preparations for the IBU Open European Championships in Minsk.
The Raubichi Olympic Training Center hosted earlier both world and European biathlon championships. After major renovations the center hosted the 49th edition of the Biathlon Junior World Championships in 2015.
