MINSK, 14 December (BelTA) – Tigran Ohanyan of Armenia has been named the winner of the 3rd Minsk International Christmas Singing Competition, BelTA learned from the National Academic Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater of Belarus.
Andrei Nemzer of Russia was awarded the first prize. The second prize went to Alexander Mikhtyuk from Belarus, and the third prize to Russian Zarina Abayeva.
The People’s Choice Award went to Belarus’ Margarita Levchuk. Competing for the awards of the 3rd Minsk International Christmas Singing Competition were 120 singers from 16 countries. The competition had three rounds. The winners were named at a gala concert on 13 December.
The best of the best were selected by a competent jury that comprised directors of opera theaters, theatrical agents and outstanding music figures. The panel of judges was led by Director General of the Bolshoi Theater of Belarus Vladimir Gridyushko.
