Famous Belarusian artists honored with UNESCO medals

MINSK, 27 November (BelTA) – The Victor Hugo medals and diplomas of the UNESCO Director General have been conferred on Belarusian citizens, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

UNESCO Director General Irina Bokova decided to award People’s Artists of the USSR and Belarus Tamara Nizhnikova, Gennady Ovsyannikov, and Rostislav Yankovsky.

The awarding ceremony will take place at the Yanka Kupala National Academic Theater on 30 November.
