MINSK, 11 April (BelTA) – Belarus’ Darya Naumava (women’s 76kg) was triumphant at the 2019 EWF Senior European Weightlifting Championships in Batumi, Georgia, BelTA has learned.
The silver medalist of Rio 2016 scored 106kg in Snatch and 136kg in Clean+Jerk with a combined total of 242kg. Spain’s Lidia Valentin came second with 241kg (108+133 kg). Bronze went to Patricia Strenius of Sweden who scored 233kg (101+132 kg).
Earlier, Henadz Laptseu clinched the men’s 61kg gold, Petr Asayonak won the men’s silver, Yulia Asayonak won the women’s 45kg bronze, Vadzim Likharad claimed the men’s 73kg bronze.
Over 400 athletes from 47 countries are competing at the 2019 EWF Senior European Weightlifting Championships. The tournament, which is a qualifier for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, will run through 13 April.
