Alexandra Sasnovich honored with Fed Cup Heart Award
MINSK, 15 April (BelTA) – Belarus' Alexandra Sasnovich has been presented with the Fed Cup Heart Award for excellent performance on court, BelTA learnt from the Belarusian Tennis Federation.
In the first match of the 2016 Federation Cup World Group II against Canada in Quebec the Belarusian won two singles encounters and brought Belarus a victory with another win in pair with Olga Govortsova.
That success saw Belarus triumph 3-2 in the World Group II clash and book a first World Group playoff encounter. Alexandra Sasnovich made a decision to donate the award money of $6,000 to support children at the Cancer Center in Borovlyany.
In 2011 the Fed Cup Heart Award went to leader of the Belarusian national team Victoria Azarenka.
At present the Belarusian tennis players are getting ready for the 2016 Federation Cup World Group playoff against Russia. The matches are due in Moscow on 16-17 April.
