Second batch of humanitarian aid from Poland arrives in Belarus

MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – The second batch of humanitarian aid from Poland to Belarus to combat COVID-19 has arrived in Minsk, BelTA learned.

Forty trucks arrived in the transport and logistics center Minsk-Beltamozhservis 2 and five more trucks were unloaded in Lida. The total weight of the cargo is 300 tonnes. Poland has sent ventilators, medicines, several million protective and medical masks, antiseptic liquid, protective robes, biological. As Chief of the Polish Prime Minister Chancellery Michal Dworczyk said at a ceremony in Warsaw yesterday this is the largest batch of humanitarian aid in the history of modern Poland.

The humanitarian aid was transported by trucks of the State Fire Service, the State Police and the Border Service. Representatives of the Healthcare Ministry, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Polish Embassy in Belarus welcomed the cargo near the Belarusian capital city. Medical equipment, medical products and medicines will be handed over to the National Center for Medical Response, Grodno Regional Infectious Diseases Clinical Hospital, the district hospitals in Shchuchin, Lida, Smorgon, and Volkovysk.

As it has been reported, the first batch of humanitarian aid arrived in Belarus on 24 April. Then it included disinfectants (50,000 liters), antiseptics (30,000 liters) and surgical masks (100,000  necessary to fight the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic.
