 Project name: Sport For All

Applicant:  Educational establishment “Bobruisk state sports school of Olympic reserve”

Implementation period: May 2020 – November 2021

Project goals:

To create the conditions for a healthy lifestyle, health awareness and development of physical activity among residents of Bobruisk;
To create the conditions for development of game sports in Bobruisk: handball, volleyball, basketball, futsal among children and adults, children and adults with disabilities for full development, employment and life in the society;
To create the conditions for hosting national and international competitions in game sports included in the programs of the Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic Games.

Project objectives:

To build awareness of the need for regular physical exercises and sports, self-improvement, healthy lifestyle among residents of Bobruisk;
To assist with regular physical exercises and sports of children and adults with disabilities;
To help children and adults with disabilities personal and intellectual potential
To increase youth participation in sport to keep them off the streets and to help them break bad habits that adversely affect their health;
To provide assistance with social inclusion of children and adults with disabilities through physical culture and sport.

Description of the project activities:

Construction of a gym for game sports

Target groups:

- Regional residential home for hearing impaired children (up to 100 people); kindergarten for children with impaired vision (up to 20 people); students with musculoskeletal disorders enrolled in special medical groups and domestic schooling programs (more than 200 people);
- Bobruisk production unitary enterprise “Bobruisk Universal” of the public association “Belarusian association of the deaf” – more than 400 people;
- Belarusian association of the disabled (BELOI) Bobruisk city organization – more than 300 people;
- Unitary enterprise “Contact-Bobruisk” Limited Liability Organization “BelTIZ” – more than 200 people

Project rationale:

With the population at 217,000, the city of Bobruisk lacks a multi-purpose gym for game sports compliant with the requirements of competitions in game sports included in the programs of the Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic Games.

Post-project activities:

The city will have an opportunity to host national and international competitions included in the programs of the Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic Games.

About us:

The Bobruisk state sports school of Olympic reserve was founded in accordance with Executive Order No.48/36 of the USSR State Committee for Public Education and the USSR State Committee for Physical Culture and Sport of 27 January 1989 by means of transforming the sports boarding school into the sports school of Olympic reserve.
   
The Bobruisk state sports school of Olympic reserve provides training and education of the second and third general secondary education levels, organizes educational and training process in sports to train the talent pool for the national teams of the Republic of Belarus and high-class athletes, implements the college education program, trains qualified specialists with college diploma in physical culture and sport.
 
School alumni:

Andrey Aryamnov -  Olympic weightlifting champion 2008;
Alexander and Andrey Bogdanovich - Olympic canoe champions 2008, silver Olympic medalists 2012;
Darya Naumova – silver Olympic medalist 2016;
Igor Boki –  Paralympics champion, prize winner of 2012 and 2016, many-time world and Europe para-swimming champion.
