Humanitarian project of the department for ideology, culture and youth affairs of the Slutsk District Executive Committee

Project name: Setting up an exposition in the Slutsk Local History Museum

Implementation period:  1 year

Project applicant: Slutsk Local History Museum

Project objectives: To set up an exposition about the most important and interesting historical events of Slutsk District, about local personalities, about the contribution of the district to the national history. Тo promote the formation of an attractive tourist and cultural image of Slutsk District

Project goals:

1.Тo showcase the development and history of Slutsk District
2. To create a dynamic, multi-faceted exposition using diverse tools
3. To visualize the history flow
4. To create opportunities for educational activities
5. To use multimedia and audiovisual means

Target group: schoolchildren, residents and visitors to the city of Slutsk

Brief description:

Hall 1 will display flora and fauna of Slutsk District divided into bio-groups: lowlands, lakes and rivers, forests, meadows and fields. It will also house an interactive zone for school field trips for environmental education purposes.
Hall 2 will be dedicated to first settlers in the territory of Slutsk District.
Hall 3 will narrate about the Principality of Slutsk as part of the Turov-Pinsk Principality and of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and Rzeczpospolita.
Hall 4 will detail about the famous Slutsk manufactory of Persian-styled sashes of the mid-18th - mid 19th centuries.
Hall 5 will be dedicated to the historical, cultural and economic life of Slutsk; will recreate the atmosphere of the past, the second half of the 19th – early 20th centuries in particular. The hall will display the documents, postcards and photographs of Somir Yukhnin to showcase religious and cultural life of Slutsk, industrial production and agriculture, education, trade and transport.
Hall 6 will tell about the military events in the territory of Slutsk District and participation of locals in various wars.
Hall 7 will celebrate prominent locals: writers, scientists, athletes, military leaders.
Hall 8 will honor the natives of Slutsk District who have made a great contribution to space exploration.
