China sends fourth batch of medical supplies to Belarus

MINSK, 1 June (BelTA) – The fourth batch of medical supplies have been sent to Belarus from China, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in China.

“The fourth batch of medical supplies for protection, diagnosis and treatment of the coronavirus infection was shipped aboard the Defense Ministry aircraft at Beijing Capital International Airport on the night between 30 and 31 May. The cargo included PPE, no-contact thermometers, test systems, oxygen concentrators and other medical products. The cargo amounted to over 140 cubic meters, with the weight of 22 tonnes,” said the embassy.

The Chinese SCO Committee on Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation together with Fosun Pharma Company has donated PCR tests for detection of COVID-19, the international organization UNICEF - oxygen concentrators, and the importer of Belarusian products - masks KN95. PPE has been provided by the city of Chongqing, where the Consulate General of Belarus is expected to open this year. Shaanxi University of Traditional Chinese Medicine has provided Belarus with 50,000 traditional Chinese medicines to prevent and support the treatment of the disease.

In total, about 112 tonnes of medical supplies were sent to Belarus from China in April – May to fight against coronavirus, including assistance from regions and companies of China, international and regional organizations, as well as medical products purchased by Belarusian organizations and citizens.

Humanitarian cooperation with China continues, said the embassy.
