MINSK, 13 May (BelTA) – China has sent another batch of medical products to Belarus, BelTA learned from the Belarusian embassy in Beijing.

“In the morning of 13 May a Belarusian aircraft with medical equipment departed from Beijing to Minsk. Cities and provinces of China continue to provide humanitarian aid to Belarus. On board of the aircraft are medical supplies from the cities of Beijing, Changchun, and Xinjiang. Chinese companies that interact with Belarus in various sectors continue providing help as well,” the diplomatic mission said.

The embassy stressed that “the instruction of Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko to launch the country's own production of protective face masks has been fully implemented”. A line to produce KN95 respirators purchased in China will be delivered to Minsk. Thus, the country will be able to launch its own production of flat masks and respirators of the 2nd and 3rd levels of protection.

More than half of the cargo is medical supplies purchased by Belarusian companies at the request of the Healthcare Ministry. These are artificial lung ventilation devices, test systems, and protective gear. The cargo makes up more than 10 tonnes.

In March-May 2020, China sent over 90 tonnes of various medical products to Belarus, including assistance from the Chinese government, regions and economic entities, as well as medical devices purchased by Belarusian companies.

The humanitarian cooperation between Belarus and China is systemic in nature.
