MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) - Russian bikers, participants of the Roads to Victory motor run, visited the Mound of Glory and the Khatyn memorial complex on 26 April, BelTA has learned.
Leader of the Roads to Victory group Andrei Bobrovsky said that it was not the first time he visited the Khatyn memorial. "It was my initiative to make Khatyn one of the stops on our journey. It is a very strong place which leaves a mark on the soul of everyone. The memory of those terrible events must remain in our DNA. If we lose it, we will not be able to tell our children and grandchildren of all the horrors of the Second World War and the history may repeat itself,” he said.
From Khatyn participants of the Roads to Victory motor run headed off to Brest where they will visit the Brest Hero Fortress memorial complex.
The motor run Roads to Victory passes through the territory of Belarus and is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War. 15 riders from the Night Wolves Motorcycle Club rode through Vitebsk and Minsk Oblasts, laid flowers to the Mound of Glory, visited the Khatyn memorial complex. In Minsk they were joined by 10 Belarusian bikers.
