70th anniversary of the Great Victory

MINSK, 28 April (BelTA) – A parade detail as large as 75 people will be sent by the 5^th independent special operations brigade of the Belarusian army to Moscow for the sake of taking part in the military parade on 9 May, BelTA learned from Vladimir Makarov, Press Secretary of the Central Office for Ideology of the Belarusian Defense Ministry, on 28 April.

“The 5^th independent brigade is one of the best units of the Belarusian army. It will represent the special operations forces of our armed forces,” noted Vladimir Makarov.

The parade to be held in Minsk on 9 May will gather over 5,000 military personnel and about 250 combat vehicles that will make up 19 parade details on foot and 24 parade details in modern combat vehicles.

Cadets of the Belarusian Military Academy are expected to take part in the parade as well as the military technology faculty of the Belarusian National Technical University, personnel of the 120^th independent guards mechanized brigade, the 38^th and 103^rd independent guards mobile brigade, the 86^th and 85^th signal brigades, the 56^th, 60^th, and 74^th independent signal regiments, the combined guard of honor company, the combined orchestra of the Belarusian army, parade details of the State Border Committee, the interior troops of the Interior Ministry, and the Emergencies Ministry, and military personnel representing the Russian army.

A festive salute of 30 volleys will be arranged in Minsk, the Brest Fortress, Vitebsk, Gomel, Grodno and Mogilev at 22:00. The order to arrange the salute will be published next week, said the Press Secretary.
