Belarusian media forum to open with Belarus Unconquered project

MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – The tenth Belarusian International Media Forum “Partnership for the Future: Legacy of Great Victory” will be held in the city of Minsk, Minsk and Brest regions from 7 to 10 June. The forum will open with the Belarus Unconquered project, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Information Ministry.

The participants of the media forum will visit the Belarusian State Museum of the Great Patriotic War where they will be welcomed by Minsk Mayor Andrei Shorets. Then the guests will visit the historical and cultural complex Stalin’s Line.

The Belarus Unconquered project also includes trips to the Brest Hero Fortress and Khatyn memorials, the thematic expositions: the photo exhibition “Stages of the Great Victory” by the BelTA news agency, the exposition of the newspapers and magazines issued by the underground and partisan movements during the Great Patriotic War by the National Book Chamber, and the exhibition of the best works of the CIS Patriotic Poster competition “We Cherish Peace”.

The program of the event which is expected to be attended by more than 400 participants from 20 countries includes a plenary session with the thematic panel discussions, summer school of journalism with master classes from leading foreign and Belarusian journalists.

Traditionally, the forum is attended by the heads of leading mass media outlets of the CIS countries, Baltic states and other countries. Among them is General Director of Kazinform International News Agency of Kazakhstan Dauren Diyarov, Director General of Trend News Agency (Azerbaijan) Mr. Ilgar Huseynov, Editor in Chief of the World and Politics magazine, full member of the Russian Academy of Military Sciences Erast Galumov, and others.

The Belarusian international media forum has become a landmark international project, which serves as a platform to exchange views and develop new ideas, to consolidate the efforts of the international press community and experts in deepening the partnership, promoting interstate integration, and developing the CIS common humanitarian space.

The current forum will be held in the context of the landmark date for the post-Soviet space and the world – the 70th anniversary of the Great Victory, and also the special peacekeeping role of Belarus in the complex geopolitical situation.

The forum has been organized by the Belarusian Information Ministry, the Permanent Committee of the Belarus-Russia Union State, the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation, with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Belarus, Minsk City Hall, the Minsk and Brest regional administrations.

The Belarusian international media forum has been held in Belarus every year since 2006, with the financial support of the Permanent Committee of the Union State and the CIS Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation.
