Over 20,000 tickets sold for Minsk European Games

MINSK, 31 January (BelTA) – Over 20,000 tickets have already been sold for the European Games which will take place in Minsk on 21-30 June, Maksim Koshkalda, the head of marketing and advertising at the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC), said at a press conference, BelTA has learned.

“Sport fans from 28 countries have already bought 20,350 tickets. There is a total of 381,000 tickets available for 120 sessions of the games. The busiest day will be 25 June with 18 event sessions on schedule. On average, one-event tickets vary in price from Br5 to Br50. The opening ceremony will be the most expensive event costing Br150-300 while the ticket price of the closing ceremony will be lower, Br70 to Br130. This will be a world-class show starring famous artists,” Maksim Koshkalda said.

Most of the tickets have gone to Belarusian and Russian fans, followed by fans from Germany, Ireland, Lithuania, and Poland.

The European Games include competitions in 15 sports. Eight of them will act as qualifiers for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, with the European Games also counting as the official European championships for badminton, boxing, and judo. A total of 12 sport sites will be used for the games, the biggest of which are Dinamo Olympic stadium, Minsk Arena, Chizhovka Arena, Minsk Palace of Sports. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete in 199 medal events.
