Minsk to hold dress rehearsal of European Games opening ceremony on 19 June

MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – The dress rehearsal of the opening ceremony of the 2nd European Games in Minsk will be held at Minsk Dinamo Stadium on 19 June, BelTA learned from head of the ceremonies and cultural programs of the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC) Sergei Khomich.

The organizers are currently installing equipment for the upcoming show at the main venue of the games. Dinamo Stadium will host rehearsals starting from 15 June. The dress rehearsal will take place on 19 June and will involve some 3,000 volunteers. The European Games opening ceremony will take place on 21 June and will feature Russian opera singer Anna Netrebko and Kazakh pop singer Dimash Kudaibergen.

On 4 June, over a hundred of volunteers held another rehearsal at Dinamo Stadium across various functional areas of the event. According to MEGOC leading specialist on volunteer centers Maria Voinova, only experienced volunteers who worked at Dinamo Stadium, for example, during the opening ceremony and a football match after the renovation, test athletics competitions, and other major events will be working at the main venue during the games.

Minsk will host the 2nd European Games on 21-30 June. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete in 15 sports. The 1st European Games took place in Baku, Azerbaijan, in June 2015.

Tickets for the European Games are available at www.minsk2019.ticketpro.by, in the box offices of the official ticket operator Ticketpro and in more than 300 sales points in all the oblast centers and big regional centers. Tickets can be bought through a noncash settlement. For this it is necessary to fill in an application, providing a phone number and an e-mail address and submit it to minsk2019@ticketpro.by or by fax 8-017-392-67-70.
