Minsk European Games Torch Relay arrives in Bobruisk

MINSK, 4 June (BelTA) – The Flame of Peace torch relay of the 2nd European Games has finished its journey across Mogilev Oblast in Bobruisk on 3-4 June, BelTA has learned.

The Flame of Peace torch relay spent two days in this industrial center of Belarus. The torchbearers included famous Bobruisk citizens like singer and composer Ruslan Alekhno, Olympic canoe champions Aliaksandr and Andrei Bahdanovich, Guinness World Record holders, strongmen Vyacheslav Khoroneko and Yevgeny Los.

The torch relay traveled from Lenina Square along the main streets of Bobruisk. The first day wrapped up with a concert near Bobruisk Arena which can seat 7,000 people. On 4 June, the torchbearers carried the flame to Krasny Pischevik confectionery, Belshina tire producer and the agricultural enterprise Gigant in the agrotown of Bolshiye Bortniki.

The torch relay has been traveling across Mogilev Oblast since 30 June. It will now move on to Gomel Oblast.

The Flame of Peace torch relay will finish at Dinamo National Olympic Stadium during the opening ceremony of the 2nd European Games on 21 June.

Minsk will host the 2nd European Games on 21-30 June. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete for 200 medal sets in 15 sports.
