Minsk 2019: Belarus’ Artsem Kozyr and Alena Nazdrova claim champion titles
MINSK, 27 June (BelTA) – Belarus’ Artsem Kozyr and Alena Nazdrova won the Men’s C1 200m and Women’s C1 200m events at the 2nd European Games in Minsk on 27 June, BelTA has learned.

Belarus’ Artsem Kozyr clocked 42.835 Silver went to Nicolae Craciun of Italy. Spain’s Alfonso Benavides took bronze.

Alena Nazdrova secured a confident win in the Women’s C1 200m despite complicated weather conditions. Germany’s Lisa Jahn was second, with bronze going to Poland’s Dorota Borowska.

Artsem Kozyr and Alena Nazdrova add two golds to belarus’ medal haul at the 2nd European Games. Earlier, Maryna Litvinchuk and Volha Khudzenka won the Women’s K1 500m event and Volha Khudzenka clinched the champion title in the Women’s K1 500m.

Dzmitry Tretyakou won the Men’s K1 200m bronze. Volha Khudzenka and Maryna Litvinchuk finished third in the Women’s K2 200m after Ukraine’s Mariya Povkh and Liudmyla Kuklinovska (gold) and Germany’s Tina Dietze and Franziska John (silver).

Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko was present at the competitions at Zaslavl Regatta Course. 

Olympic champions Sergei Makarenko, Aliaksandr Bahdanovich and Dmitri Dovgalenok also attended the event.
