Belarusian basketball player: We could not lose match against Italy

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) – We could not lose a match against Italy, Belarus player Anastasia Sushchik told the media, BelTA has learned.

Belarus kicked out the basketball tournament at the European Games in style by beating Italy 21:7. “The girls knew how important it was to start the tournament on a good note. We could not lose the match against Italy as we have two more important games which will determine our tournament fate. We also could not disappoint the fans who came to support us today,” she noted.

The 3x3 basketball tournament at the European Games will be held on 21-24 June. The group stage will feature 16 men’s teams and 16 women’s teams divided into four groups. The two best-placed teams will advance to the playoffs which will be held on 24 June.
