2nd European Games website to become communications platform for participants

MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – The website dedicated to the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 will become a communications platform for all the participants. The statement was made by Georgy Katulin, CEO of the Minsk European Games Organizing Committee (MEGOC), as the Belarusian mobile carrier MTS signed a contract in BelTA’s press center on 26 June. By signing the contract, MTS Company became the committee's national partner in the area of development of telecommunications.

The official website of the 2nd European Games Minsk 2019 was updated one year before the games are scheduled to begin. “In addition to covering sport events during the games the website will become a communications platform for all participants of the forthcoming forum. Together with the IT partner – Synesis Sport Company – a secure Extranet network will be developed to enable the accreditation of national teams. It will also contain information about the arrivals and departures of the delegations and the accommodation of the guests. The platform will be used later on for arranging not only sport competitions in Belarus but major cultural and entertainment events such as Eurovision,” said Georgy Katulin.

The content of the website minsk2019.by has been greatly expanded in the last few months. MEGOC Deputy CEO Anatoly Kotov stressed that the website will cater to several things. “Apart from sports it will contain all the information for tourists such as culture of Belarus and Minsk. The work of MEGOC's partners will be covered as well. MTS Company will also submit the necessary information. Everything will be done to allow every visitor to dive as deep as possible into the atmosphere of the European Games,” said Anatoly Kotov.

During the 2nd European Games the mobile carrier MTS will provide mobile data services to guests and participants of the forthcoming sport forum.

The 2nd European Games are scheduled to take place in Minsk on 21-30 June 2019. Over 4,000 athletes from 50 countries will compete for awards in 15 sports. Competitions in ten sports will qualify athletes for the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo.
