Uzbekistan’s trading house opened in Minsk

Uzbekistan’s trading house opened in Minsk

MINSK, 8 July (BelTA) – An Uzbekistan trading house has opened in Minsk, BelTA has learned.

The solemn opening of the Uzbekistan trading house coincides with an official visit of Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Belarus, which is scheduled for 8–9 July. The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan organized the opening together with the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BelCCI). This event represents an important step in strengthening bilateral economic ties and confirms the dynamic development of Belarusian-Uzbek cooperation.

The important guests, who took part in the solemn opening ceremony, included Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Yuri Shuleiko, Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Jamshid Khodjaev, Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Davron Vakhabov, and BelCCI Chairman Mikhail Myatlikov.

As Davron Vakhabov noted, electrical appliances and home textiles are represented at the trading house. “Uzbekistan’s trade turnover with Belarus can go as high as $1 billion, and the presidents of both countries have set the goal to raise it to $2 billion. The trading house’s operation will help achieve the goal,” he said.

The new venue is supposed to serve as a showcase for Uzbekistan’s export potential and a platform for presenting and selling agricultural, electrical, textile, and other types of products. The trading house will facilitate the establishment of direct contacts between the business communities of the two countries, will help advance the ties to a new level and foster the creation of joint ventures.

The opening of Uzbekistan’s trading house is a logical continuation of the active efforts conducted by the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan. During the official visit of a Belarusian government delegation to Uzbekistan in February 2026, the chambers of commerce and industry of the two countries organized a Belarusian-Uzbek business forum, during which contracts and agreements worth nearly $110 million were signed.

A solemn opening ceremony of the Uzbek cuisine restaurant Tashkent also took place in Minsk.
