Total area of Belarusian expositions abroad increases by 25% in 2017

MINSK, 22 November (BelTA) – The total area of Belarusian expositions abroad increased by 25% in 2017, as against 2016, director of Belinterexpo Company of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Evgeny Vvedensky told a press conference on 22 November, BelTA has learned.

“This year the total area of ​​Belarusian expositions abroad expanded by 25%, and the number of participants in these events increased as well. In 2017, a total of 206 Belarusian organizations and enterprises participated in exhibitions abroad. The majority of them represented the manufacturing and food sectors. The largest number of expositions was presented by the Industry Ministry, the Education Ministry, Belgospishcheprom Concern and the Agriculture and Food Ministry. Three expositions were staged by the State Science and Technology Committee, the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Belneftekhim Concern, and Bellegprom. The national industrial sector was mainly represented by Minsk and Minsk Oblast. The largest number of food producers were from Grodno Oblast and Gomel Oblast,” said Evgeny Vvedensky.

In 2017, Belinterexpo held 20 exhibition events abroad. “The biggest event was Belarus’ national exposition at the 4th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Moscow. 84 scientific and industrial organizations presented more than 250 innovative exhibits, including an electric vehicle, an electric bus, the Earth remote sensing system, drones, glasses with augmented reality, new IT technologies, ultrasonic technologies and equipment for cardiology, transplantology, and oncology. As a result, a number of agreements and contracts were signed during the forum. Another big event was the Made in Belarus exhibition in Astana, which was attended by more than 70 domestic companies,” the director of the enterprise said.

This year Belarus held its first national expositions in Cuba, Algeria and Guangzhou, China. Belarusian organizations also displayed their products at exhibitions in Azerbaijan, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Syria, Pakistan, the UK, Israel and Uzbekistan. “I would like to note the important events such as Belarus’ exposition at the World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi and the exposition of the Belarusian woodworking sector at the Timber Expo in the UK,” Evgeny VVedensky said.
