ASTANA, 4 November (BelTA) – Belarus’ Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin met with Kazakhstan’s President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during his official visit to Astana, BelTA has learned.
The meeting touched upon prospects for trade, economic, and industrial cooperation.

“Aleksandr Genrikhovich [Turchin], I am happy to welcome you to Astana. This is your first official visit to us as head of government. We consider this visit very important, given the level of cooperation between our states. Trade between our countries is picking up steam. Kazakhstan is Belarus’ second-largest trading partner [among CIS countries]. We have a high regard for your country, your people, and their unique culture. Certainly, Belarusian President Aleksandr Grigoryevich Lukashenko has played a major role in advancing our relations. I would like to take this opportunity to convey my greetings and best wishes to him. We are committed to the most positive cooperation with tangible results and are interested in ensuring that the successful development of our partnership continues,” Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said.
In turn, Aleksandr Turchin conveyed to the president of Kazakhstan the warmest wishes from Aleksandr Lukashenko. “As your friend, Belarus closely follows Kazakhstan’s development and is delighted with your successes. Your country has been demonstrating steady economic growth for a long time, and we cannot help but be glad for your achievements,” he emphasized.
