TIBO 2017 expected to focus on promising technologies for Belarus

MINSK, 11 January (BelTA) – On 11 January, Belarusian Deputy Prime Minister Anatoly Kalinin held the first meeting of the organizing committee for the international forum on telecommunications, information and banking technologies TIBO 2017 that will take place from 17 to 21 April, BelTA has learned.

“The forum should discuss current matters related to the implementation of promising technologies in Belarus drawing on international experience. These include additive technologies, 3D printing, big data processing technologies, and the Internet of things. Electronic government that we are actively promoting is also on the list,” Anatoly Kalinin noted.

He set the task to give a wide-ranging presentation of the Hi-Tech Park. “We need to show everything that we have created. And we have created a lot. Many foreign guests visiting TIBO note the significant progress that the country has made in this field,” Anatoly Kalinin said. In addition, the Vice Premier gave instructions to ensure extensive coverage of the forum in the media, including foreign ones.

Anatoly Kalinin recalled that Belarus is ranked 31st on the ITU 2016 Global ICT Development Index. “We are still the CIS leader. This means that, on the one hand, we have something to show. On the other, there are things we need to aim for. In 2016, all specialists commended the high level of the organization of TIBO. I think that this year we must raise the bar even higher,” he said.
