Swiss companies interested in advances in AI in Belarus’ Hi-Tech Park

MINSK, 26 November (BelTA) – Swiss businessmen were interested in what resident companies of the Hi-Tech Park have achieved so far in the area of artificial intelligence for healthcare, agriculture, transport, and manufacturing sector applications, the Hi-Tech Park press service told BelTA after participants of the latest session of the Belarusian-Swiss Business Council visited the park.

The Swiss delegation included representatives of many high-technology companies that buy a lot of components to make hi-tech products. The visitors asked questions about the terms companies with foreign investments enjoy in the Hi-Tech Park.

Head of the Public Information and International Cooperation Department of the Hi-Tech Park Administration Kirill Zalessky noted that the impressive growth the Hi-Tech Park demonstrated in the last two years attracts stronger and stronger attention of major companies from Western Europe. “Switzerland is one of the countries with a lively interest in cooperation in the sphere of information technologies,” Kirill Zalessky stressed.

The unique conditions available in the Hi-Tech Park represent a strong argument in favor of cooperation with the park in the eyes of the Swiss delegation.

The rising interest in the Belarusian IT sector may produce concrete results soon. Honorary Consul of Belarus in Lausanne Andrei Nazheskin is convinced of it: “I know that more vigorous contacts are in progress between Belarusian companies and Swiss investors. Quite many projects in the sphere of high technologies will be implemented in the near future thanks to the Hi-Tech Park. We hope there will be some concrete investments in H1 2020.”

At present the Hi-Tech Park is home to 684 companies that employ over 55,000 people. The park has welcomed 247 new companies since the beginning of the year.
