Russia’s Yugra interested in Belarusian forestry equipment

MINSK, 26 June (BelTA) – The Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra, Russia is interested in Belarusian forestry equipment, Governor of the region Ruslan Kukharuk said at the 13th Forum of Regions of Belarus and Russia in Minsk on 26 June, BelTA has learned.

Ruslan Kukharuk noted that the oil and gas extraction industry is highly developed in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Area – Yugra. Specialists from the two countries exchange experience in this field and implement joint projects. However, expanding industrial cooperation is not limited to the oil and gas sector. A successful example of diversification is the cooperation between Yugra’s enterprises and Belarusian machine-building organizations. “In 2025, we reviewed the list of suppliers from other countries, as a result of which the volume of vehicle imports from the Republic of Belarus increased 4.6 times in a year. Overall, the total volume of Belarusian imports in 2025 more than doubled,” the governor said.

Yugra is also a promising market for Belarusian manufacturers of forestry equipment. “Today, the total timber stock in our region amounts to 3.2 billion cubic meters. The annual allowable volume of timber harvesting exceeds 40 million cubic meters. Forestry operations in these areas are carried out by 133 regional enterprises. Given the current dynamics, we propose considering the possibility of localizing service centers for warranty and post-warranty maintenance of vehicles and equipment in Yugra. I have heard that such practices already exist in other regions of our country. We are ready to host a similar multiservice center in our region,” Ruslan Kukharuk emphasized.
